...which is my rather sardonic way of welcoming all and sundry to my humble online abode. ;-) The recent heat wave, not to mention some things going on in my personal life at the moment, put me in mind of Dante's Inferno.
I am rather wound up tonight and thought it was about time I posted something on my blog, for criminy's sake. LOL Even if it's basically just a new photo.
By the way, this isn't just ANY photo. The above is one of the last known images of the ill-fated neon sign which featured so prominently in many a Guided by Voices concert. I snapped this in April 2000 at The Annex in Madison, WI, shortly before the sign was destroyed by an overzealous (and undoubtedly drunken) fanboy.
So what does it mean, you ask? The phrase - "The club is open" - is a partial lyric from setlist staple, "A Salty Salute," off of GbV's seminal 1995 effort, Alien Lanes.
